PTFA

The PTFA are the parent, teachers and friends association at Hennock School.

We consist mainly of the parents and teachers at the school although other members of the community do get involved with varying degrees. E.g. tractors & trailers from local farmers, cakes, equipment and relatives to come into school and support.

The school often ask us to help support different activities, trips, and raise money for the school. For example: to support an open day, organise a garden tidy up, assist with props for our wonderful performance as well as being on hand to provide refreshments at Christmas and Easter day celebrations. These are often important opportunities for the school to provide our children with different experiences to enhance their learning even further.

We also provide funding towards those extras, such as the minibus running costs, leavers’ gifts and books, Christmas presents, subsidise the residential trip plus any key expenses or resources needed through the school. Of late, the PTFA provided £2000 for new computers, £2000 towards Preschool flooring, £300 towards reading resources, £500 towards Enrichment week activities and experiences for the children and over £400 toward Spanish lessons and resources.

Fund raising has varied over the years, but on average, we raise approximately £1500 a year through rag bag recycling, Christmas raffles/refreshments. Our Silent Auction is a big fundraiser and is well supported by local businesses and families. This year’s Easter Fayre run mostly by the children raised £350!

Our next step is to register as a charity. We look forward to moving on to the next stage as it is amazing what can be achieved. I know we can do even more to support our children and school for the future.
