PTFA
Welcome to the Hennock Primary School PTFA
The Hennock Parent, Teachers, and Friends Association (PTFA) is a registered charity (Charity No: 1206163) dedicated to supporting and enhancing the magical educational experience of our children.
We are a passionate team of parents, carers, staff, and local community members. We know that Hennock is a truly special place—renowned for its highly nurturing environment, exceptional SEND integration, and deeply rooted forest school ethos. Our mission as a PTFA is to ensure the children have the resources, experiences, and facilities to match the high calibre of teaching they receive every day.
 What We Do
While standard school budgets cover the essentials, the PTFA steps in to fund the "extras" that make school life memorable and enrich our children's learning. Throughout the year, we work hard to raise funds and organise events that bring our wonderful village and wider Teignbridge community together.
Our activities and ongoing support include:
- Major Community Fundraisers: We host fantastic events throughout the year to raise vital funds, most notably our legendary Annual Barn Dance! This is currently our biggest fundraiser, where up to 500 people from across the community gather to dance the night away in a local barn.
- School Events: Organising and providing refreshments for our Christmas celebrations, school performances, the children's Easter Fayre, and our annual Sports Day.
- Enhancing Learning & Play: Funding new classroom resources, reading materials, and enrichment week activities.
- Subsidising Trips: Helping to cover the costs of school excursions and the much-loved residential trips to ensure every child can participate.
- Celebrating Milestones: Providing special gifts and books for our Year 6 leavers.
Our Biggest Mission Yet: The Playground Renovation
As a registered charity, we have recently levelled up our ambitions to tackle major infrastructure improvements for the school. Following the fantastic success of our new outdoor table tennis table, we are currently spearheading an urgent campaign to completely transform the school’s failing playground.
We are raising funds to replace the muddy, poorly drained surface with a climate-resilient, nature-rich "living classroom." It is a massive community-led project designed to secure the future of our school for generations to come.
