Eco Council

Intent

Our Eco Council empowers pupils to take an active role in caring for our school environment and the wider world. We aim to develop environmentally responsible citizens who understand the importance of sustainability and regenerative principles and making positive choices for the future.

Implementation

Eco Council members meet regularly to discuss environmental issues, share ideas and lead projects across the school. They promote recycling, reducing waste, saving energy, caring for wildlife and encouraging sustainable practices within our school community. They have been heavily involved in our recent playground reonvations and worked with local gardener to design our planting scheme for the new raised beds which ensure a playful, sensory experience for the children whislt encourgaing pollinators to our plot.

Impact

Through their work, pupils develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills while making a meaningful contribution to school life. The Eco Council helps create a greener, more sustainable environment and encourages all children to become responsible and active global citizens.
